With the eldest two children packed off to football camp for the day I decided that the toddler and I would go for a walk.
I've always wanted to walk from Martlesham Creek (which is just a few minutes walk from our house) to Woodbridge but have never found the time. I'd also heard that the path was difficult, until recently.
So, walking boots on, camera charged and supplies packed off we went. As soon as we got into the wood I wondered if I'd made such a good decision. After a lot of rain yesterday the path was rather muddy.
It was well and truly worth it though. It was a lovely, but breezy, walk and the views were spectacular. It was difficult with the pushchair at times and I could have done with taking the 3-wheeler but after a lot of hard pushing we managed to get through. I've certainly given my arms a good workout today!
At the point where the creek meets the River Deben there is now a boardwalk, although it is low-lying so may still be liable to flooding at high tide.
We stopped for a bite to eat on Kingston Park and then headed back along the road from Woodbridge to Martlesham as I wanted Tidgy to sleep. Typically, he didn't fall asleep until we were less than 5 minutes away from home!
I think that the eldest two will love this walk so we'll be heading back soon.

Looks an amazing place to live! Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. My photos can't do the place enough justice though.
