Ten On Tuesday No32

This week it's the turn of @jaydee_97 who has to be one of the most genuine, kind and helpful tweeters that I know and she is ALWAYS full of useful advice and sane words.

1. Who are you and what do you do?
I'm Jan Davies and I'm a software test manager in Ipswich, having initially being a dental nurse when I left school, then got into computers after the kids started school and have been working with them ever since.
2. What item would you be lost without?
I had to think hard about this. Although I feel a bit miffed if I leave my mobile at home, I don't really care that much about it. However, if I couldn't listen to music during the day, I'd be gutted, so I have to say radio (the physical item or via Internet)
3. What was the first concert you attended?
Pat Travers Manchester Apollo 1980, I doubt you've heard of him. Second was Sammy Hagar, Have been to lots of rock gigs and love them. I come from the North West and didn't fully appreciate the masses of venues at the time. I'm disappointed bands rarely play Ipswich and we have to go to London or Norwich. I don't actually like London. Sorry i'm digressing!
4. Any guilty pleasures?
I really, really can't think of any! If I ever think of one I promise you'll be the first to know!
5. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
There's no point in worrying, especially because whatever you're worrying about might not even happen. It's a complete waste of thoughts.
6. If you could travel to anywhere in the world where would you choose?
I've decided I don't ever want to fly again, so I'd probably say Devon/Cornwall or the Isle of Man, ooh, or Keswick in the Lake District, or South Wales, or Scotland.. I'd better just say the UK then:)
The last time I flew was to South Africa, 11 hours each way of utter hell, I just couldn't get comfortable, my legs were in agony and all I wanted to do was lie down flat. I was a proper mess. Sitting in a cinema is difficult too, nowadays, but at least you can leave the cinema and go home!
7. Which 4 people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party?
- Ross Noble, I love his sense of humour and his was the funniest show I've ever been to.
- My Dad, I miss him a lot and don't really feel I appreciated him when he was alive. He died in 2001 and I still always think 'oh I'd love to tell Dad about......'
- Wendy Fox, founder of BADA-UK, a charity that does endless work to raise awareness about ticks and Lyme Disease. I just wish I'd already met her before I was bitten in 2004. Wendy is one of the most selfless people I know. She is in a wheelchair, is registered blind and has untold health problems that most people don't realise. She's got a wicked sense of humour. I admire her so much.
-  Joe Bonamassa, a superbly talented guitarist, that I've seen several times live. He would also provide the after dinner music.
8. What do you love most about where you live?
It's nice and quiet, with lovely Suffolk countryside views. it's nice to be able to walk down to the river with my grandkids.
9. Who makes you laugh? Well I've already invited Ross Noble for dinner. Other, unintentional funny people are my grandkids, who ask the daftest questions at times. My 4year old granddaughter told me I had missed the spacebar when I was spelling out happy birthday for her to write on a card.  Modern  technology! Oh and that same granddaughter and her brother performing an Olly Murs song for me is hilarious.

10. What’s the best present you’ve ever received?
OK now I promise you this is the truth. A Shewee. My other half bought it for me a few xmases ago. We don't go big on presents for each other. The reason it's the best is because it proves he absolutely knows me.
