We were invited to take part in the Poundland Weekly Cupboard Essentials Challenge as they've recently launched over 100 new grocery lines for customers.
We were given a £15 voucher to spend stocking up on those essential items.
I have to admit that although I have shopped in Poundland a lot in the last year (mainly for stationary, arts and crafts, sweets and goodies for parties) I'd never really taken much notice of their grocery range so I was very keen to see what we'd be getting for our £15 as I wasn't confident that we'd be able to buy that many essential items.
I was pleasantly surprised with the choice though and hubby was amazed with how much we had saved compared to buying the items at a supermarket. On offer were products from top brands like Heinz, Tetley, Walkers, Simple, Colgate and many more.
We bought the following; (savings in brackets, based upon our usual grocery shop)
Pk 3 Kitchen Roll (99p)Sure roll on (70p)
Pk 10 scourers (£1.80)
Eggs (approx £1.00)
Robinson's Squash (39p)
Heinz Baked Beans (40p)
Annabel Karmel Biscotti (25p)
Seabrook crisps (59p)
Jaffa Cakes (£1.59)
Soreen double pack (£2.38)
Fruit Factory snack pack (49p) which all adds up to an impressive saving of £12.56 on just those few items. Imagine how much you could save if you were buying more of your weekly shop!
Budgets are having to stretch further and further these days and with hubby's redundancy we're having to cutback by choosing lesser known brands but with Poundland you can still have those top brands AND save money.
Taking part in this challenge has opened our eyes to what groceries are on offer at Poundland and we'll definitely be returning for more. Try it yourself!
