Spring has most certainly sprung and although we've been getting outdoors more we still enjoy our relaxing crafting sessions. (Well, they're not always relaxing with Harry around!)
Yellow Moon sent a bundle of crafting goodies with perfect timing for the Easter holiday;
Molly's first activity was the Easter bracelet kit. Everything you need is included and the instructions are incredibly simple. She made hers in a few minutes and the only assistance she needed was an adult to tie it tightly when she'd finished. She loved the little easter themed charms.
Charlie and Molly had great fun decorating the egg-shaped candles and candle holders. The candle pens flow easily and have a narrow tip for precise marking. I'd advise working on a tray just in case you knock the candle over though (yes, it happened to us) The only downside is that they take 8 hours to dry and my children tend to like 'instant' crafts so we did these just before bedtime so that they can see their finished creations first thing in the morning.
Charlie didn't have the patience to wait for me to get paints out for the candle holders so he decorated them with the metallic decor pens. After reading that they work on a multitude of surfaces, including leather, wood, plastic, stones, glass he decided to have a hunt around the house to see what he could embellish. So far he's done a stone, coat hanger (!) and an old biscuit tin that hold his Nerf bullets. Tomorrow he wants to decorate some photo frames …and anything else he can get his hands on.
The blank cards and stickers are always a favourite with all three children as they love making cards for friends and family and don't always need an occasion. They used the holograph stickers, which were very vibrant and sparkly, and some foam stickers we had left over from last Easter. Often in the past we've had holographic stickers from other craft stores and they've been terribly thin and they rip easy but that didn't happen with these at all. They were well made and strong and Harry was able to take them off the sheet with ease.
