Chips in Cromer

It has been a very hot tiring week and with the half term holiday approaching hubby decided to take this afternoon off so that we could all head to Cromer after school to play on the beach, cool off a bit and enjoy some chips.

We wandered along the promenade to find a quiet spot for our usual beach game of target practise. With a large stone to aim for we took it in turns to see who could hit it. One of the most simplest and free activities but it keeps my lot happy for ages!

The children love finding unusual pebbles and stones and are always on the lookout for ones with holes in for me to photograph the beach through.

Harry thought that this one looked like an ancient fidget spinner!

Hubby's attempt at a 'Macca Pakka' stone sculpture

This stone looks like a fish according to Harry. A fish with hair 😂

Someone's been watching Titanic...

As part of the Cromer & Sheringham Crab & Lobster Festival the art trail for this year features decorated portholes. We hope to head back to do the trail soon. Last year shops and businesses in the area were decorated with cute dinky beach huts. Take a look at our visit here

We enjoyed a delicious meal of sausage and chips from Mary Jane's  while sat on a bench overlooking the pier and sea. We were going to have an ice-cream afterwards but Harry was chilly so we had a Mcflurry from Mcdonald's on the way home instead.

It was a lovely evening out and such a good way to unwind after a busy week. We must try to do it more often.

Have you done anything to mark the start of the school holiday?

  2. What a perfect way to celebrate finishing school for half term and making the most of a beautiful evening. We did the same one afternoon, I do love the beach in the evening, just as everyone else is leaving. Your stone throwing game is one of our favourites when we visit family in Brighton, a pebbly beach is great for this. Love the sculptures you made and interesting stones you found too.

Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids
