Popagami review and competition

COMPETITION HAS NOW ENDED

WELL DONE!!

We've had origami kits in the past and I've struggled with them. Following the instructions I fold my sheet of paper to end up with......a piece of folded paper that resembles nothing other than a folded piece of paper!

I was intrigued to see how we would get on with Popagami animals, especially with them being aimed predominantly at children.

We were sent The World of Popagami Activities Book and 24 sheets (two of each character.)

I couldn't wait to get started on the giraffe (my favourite animal) so I chose a quiet time one evening to get it done. The book has easy to follow step by step instructions and if you get stuck or prefer a video tutorial you can watch one on the Popagami website.

Once you've made your first pop-ette it's really simple, and rather addictive. Molly and Charlie were very impressed when they saw what I had made.

The biggest test was getting the children to make them. They were both able to follow the instructions but Charlie just needed a little help in making sure his creases were sharp enough, but as you can see from the photo above he was incredibly pleased with his creation.

They then each made one to give to their friends, who I believe were equally impressed.

These are a fun, inexpensive way of introducing children to origami and the pop-ettes have a myriad of uses. The activity book suggests using them as gift containers for sweets, as finger puppets, party place settings, an alternative to paper chains and much more.

You can purchase a Combo Pack of 24 large sheets and activity book for just £7.99 and supplementary packs of sheets are also available to buy. The collection of animals is growing all the time and you can download a range of pop-ettes from the website (for a very small charge).

We thoroughly enjoyed making these and look forward to making more. We particularly like the look of the Union Jack rabbits and the dragons.

Popagami very kindly have offered my readers the chance of winning a combo pack. I have 4 to give away.

You can do one or all of the following but please leave a comment for each task you've completed making sure you leave your contact details-twitter name etc.
