BeWILDerwood-The Curious Treehouse Adventure

Set amongst the trees in Hoveton, close to the Norfolk Broads, is a magical award-winning treehouse adventure inhabited by the fabulously named Twiggles and Boggles.

As you're walking around the park you may spot their homes, some up high in the trees, some in the marshes.

We arrived at the park soon after opening and already the car park was filling up quickly. It was clearly a popular place! After getting our wristbands at Grubble's Greeting Gate we walked past the shop and queue for the Bewilderboat and took the Treacherous Trail across the boggy marsh towards the main part of the park.

Harry's first stop was the Toddlewood Village for under 5s. Although he's old enough for the rest of the park it's still great that there are areas where little ones can run around for a while without worrying about being knocked over by older children.

Molly then spotted that the face painting was opening and as there wasn't a queue all three children ran over to get their faces painted as Easter bunnies.

Me & hubby were very pleased to find that this activity, along with the egg trail and craft activities were included in the admission prices.

The children were keen to get up on the treehouses and explore Bewilderwood from the heights. I thought Harry might have worried about the heights on some of them but he wasn't fussed at all. Despite the park being very busy we weren't held up on the treehouses as we expected and Harry was able to go at his own pace. The eldest two encountered queues on the popular zip wires and Slippery Slides but they were very patient.

I had hoped to get some photos from the tops of the treehouses but I was having so much fun I forgot to get the camera out. Duh!

Bewilderwood is very much a family affair and somewhere to release your inner child. Myself and hubby went up with the children and had lots of fun exploring, climbing, sliding, getting lost in the maze and more!

We attended one of the storytelling sessions, where the children are invited up onto the stage to be involved with the story, and a Twiggle Twirling session-which Harry loved as you can see above. Both of these sessions were a welcome break from the physical fun and gave me the energy to go around again. I'm not getting any younger you know!

There is also a den building area, which was very busy, but we managed to find an almost-finished den and just added a few finishing touches to it! Adjacent to the den area the new SkyMaze was taking shape and it's due to be finished ready for this summer. It's looking great and the children have asked if we can go back when it's open.

We took a picnic for lunch but there were a range of food huts throughout the park and plenty of picnic tables dotted around.

It was an excellent fun-filled family day out and we spent all day there, in fact we could have been there a couple of hours longer had the park not been closing! The facilities and park are very clean and all the staff we dealt with were friendly, helpful and looked like there were enjoying their work (Molly has since said that she wants to work there when she's older!) The added activities for Easter were a welcome bonus and the children particularly enjoyed the egg hunt.

As we headed back to the car Molly told us that it was "Epic" and Charlie said he'd "had an awesome time". You can't get any better than that as a recommendation so if you're ever in Norfolk you should add Bewilderwood to your list of places to visit.

Coming to the blog soon will be a competition to win a set of Bewilderwood books written by local children's author Tom Blofeld so watch this space!

*Disclosure: We were given a family ticket to Bewilderwood for the purposes of this review.
