Ten on Tuesday has had a long break but is back for 2014 with Sarah and her fantastic cake designs.
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Sarah, I am housemum to two daughters - Emily and Daisy, part time night worker for Asda and as of 12 months ago, Manager/ founder of Sarah's Creative Cakes of Fundenhall.
How did you get started?
I've always enjoyed baking, I must admit at school I wasnt that great but found once I had a family I got better. I would always use a birthday in the family as an opportunity to make cakes, especially for the girls and people would always say I was good enough to start my own business. It was at Emily's 5th birthday this year that another mum asked if I would make her son's birthday cake and from making that cake, Sarah's Creative Cakes was born!
Which 5 people, dead or alive, would you like to invite to a dinner party and why?
I would have to start with Mary Berry (of course!) in the hope that she would bring something for pudding!, David Tennant as I have a little crush on him and reckon he would tell good stories round the table, my Grandad who we lost before I found out I was pregnant with Emily just so I could tell him about the girls, plus he made a great cup of tea after our big family dinners! My other half, Martin, as he is always really good at talking to people when we go to partys etc and last but not least, Anton Du Beke as he always seems so funny on the tv and would be very good entertainment.
What's the most inspirational thing you've ever been told?
To go with my maternal/ motherly instinct - something my Mother told me when I had my daughters. She lives about 80 miles away and there were many times I would phone her when I thought something wasnt right with the girls (and still do!). She is an amazing Mum and if im anywhere near as good as her then my daughters will grow up very happy girls.
Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Im a big fan of Kylie Minogue?! is that a guilty pleasure?!!
What would be the top 3 things on your bucket list?
To go to Kenya, Take my girls to see Father Christmas at Lapland and to do something scary like a bungee jump.
What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done or said?
I'm sure there are some moments but cant actually think of any. Honest!!
What was the last thing you listened to?
Other than the constant noise coming from Cbeebies at the moment, the last thing I listened to was Gary Barlow singing with the Meerkats!! We are abig fan of them in our household!!
What was the last thing you bought yourself?
A top to wear to my daughters playgroups xmas night out.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I would like to have expanded my business due to it being so successful, Married and ideally about 3 dress sizes smaller! All are very achievable so lets see what happens!
Sarah has a special offer running throughout April to celebrate a year in business. Take a look at her Facebook page for more details www.facebook.com/SarahsCreativeCakesofFundenhall
