Staycation Summer
We didn't go away this year as we just couldn't afford it. I was sad about it as it's the first year we've had to holiday from home but it wasn't the end of the world, in fact there were quite a few positives to a staycation;
1. There was no mountain of washing to return home to as I could do the washing every day (okay, maybe that's not such a great example but I'd rather wash a load a day than come home to 7-8 loads)
2. We didn't have to worry about coming home to disappointing weather. Whatever the weather was during our days out was what we had at home and we were rather lucky.
3. We discovered some beautiful beaches, parks and attractions practically on our doorstep.
4. No need to worry about our baggage allowance. We could take as much or as little as we needed.
5. No getting up at 4am to travel all day to get to our holiday destination. I even got to have a few lie-ins!
6. No aching back from sleeping on a dodgy mattress which meant no longing for my own bed all week.
7. We used our Spree books and websites like Groupon and saved a packet!
8. We didn't have the worry of forgetting something important when packing (which I always do!)
9. No need to master a new language, well, we are still trying to understand some Norfolk folk ;-)
10. No time spent on packing or unpacking. I really hate those jobs at each end of a holiday, especially as I have to do it for the whole family.
Can you add any more?
