*New* Abney & Teal magazine

Preschoolers who love The Adventures of Abney & Teal will be able to have their own magazine to accompany the series from this week (23rd October).

For those who haven't heard of them, Abney & Teal are two ragdoll characters who live on a island in a park's lake. Their friends include Neep, a turnip, Bop, a furry river mammal and Toby the dog. Abney & Teal airs on CBeebies weekdays at 5.50pm.

A workbook is included and it promotes early years learning with various educational activities including maths, creativity and literacy. Harry is sticker-crazy so he loved the inclusion of 50 stickers which can be used throughout the magazine.

In the middle of the magazine is a 4 week reward chart featuring fun activities such as learning a new song or finding something of a particular colour outside and it also encourages personal care, helping with chores and thinking of others.

The magazine starts with a story, with the theme of music which ties in with the free gifts of a small plastic guitar and recorder (which are nothing special to be honest, as I tend to find is the case with most supposed 'free gifts' with childrens' magazines) and ends with a lovely bedtime story.

I really liked the feel of the magazine. When we've had other children's magazines the pages are made from shiny paper making it difficult to use any type of pencil or crayon on the worksheets but that's not the case with this magazine.

Harry is enjoying working through the activities and can't wait to get started on the reward chart.

Issue 1 will be available from major retailers including Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, WHSmith and all good newsagents and is priced at £2.99.

*We were not paid for this review. We received a copy of the magazine for the purposes of the review. All opinion is honest and based upon our own experiences.
