NEW Walkers Market Deli Range

Walkers have a new range of premium snacks on the market: Market Deli. They're inspired by flavours and produce found in markets and delicatessens across the UK and Europe and aimed at grown ups so, sorry kids!

The Market Deli range has pita chips, tortilla chips and of course the classic crisp. There are 8 flavours, selected and developed by food experts using real ingredients;

Crisps
Cornish Mature Cheddar
Wiltshire cured ham, mature cheddar and farmhouse chutney
Balsamic vinegar of Modena (Aceto Balsamico di Modena PGI)
Flame grilled Spanish Chorizo with roasted onion

Pita Chips
Roasted garlic with mediterranean sundried tomato
Roasted Red Pepper with English tomato

Tortilla Chips
Anglesey sea salt with cracked black pepper
Roasted red chilli with mediterranean sundried tomato

I love crisps but I tend to be fussy and will always choose ready salted over flavoured crisps but when I was asked if we'd like to try the new range I thought I'd attempt to be adventurous!

The Wiltshire cured ham, mature cheddar and farmhouse chutney were delicious and I couldn't get enough of them. I'm not a lover of strong cheese or chutney but the flavours were subtle enough for me to enjoy. The ham really came through though.

The roasted garlic pita chips were thick and crunchy and although the smell was quite strong upon opening the bag the flavour wasn't overpowering.

I like salt & vinegar crisps if the vinegar isn't too strong and I enjoyed the Balsamic vinegar of Modena ones although I wouldn't want too many of them. Hubby enjoyed them too.

The red chilli tortilla chips smelt too strong for me so I chickened out (not so adventurous after all!) but hubby had them and said that they were a little dry and the flavour was barely there. He suggested that they might have been better with a dip.

His favourites by far were the Anglesey sea salt and black pepper. He loved them and I didn't get a look-in, admittedly I'm not a fan of pepper though!

Overall we really enjoyed our taste experience of the new Market Deli range and we would definitely buy them. I was impressed with the posh looking packaging and I'd happily get them out at parties or take round to a friend's house for nibbles.

The range will be available in 165g sharing bags and the potato crisps will also be available in 40g bags in Cornish Mature Cheddar, Balsamic vinegar of Modena and Flame grilled Spanish Chorizo with roasted onion.
