Despite hunting high and low we ended up with a number of incomplete jigsaw puzzles. Harry went through a spell of chewing everything in sight so I wouldn't be surprised if he'd eaten the missing pieces.
I couldn't sell them or donate them to charity and I hate waste so I didn't want to just bin them so I headed to good ole Pinterest.
There were a lot of great Christmas ideas but I didn't fancy making anything festive with the tree & decorations still up but a couple of other crafts caught my eye.
A few people had used old puzzle pieces to decorate plain photo frames so that's what I did with Charlie's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles puzzle.
I used a wooden frame which was flat (and wide as the pieces were quite big). It was one I had bought sometime ago but it hadn't cost much money. I then separated the pieces getting rid of those which weren't green and kept the faces & logo to go on the front. It was then just a case of randomly glueing pieces to the frame and building up 2 or 3 layers. It doesn't have to be uniform or regimented. I think that the more haphazard the pieces, the better.
Charlie was really impressed with it, bless him, and the children can't wait for me to make more. Thankfully we have plenty of pieces!
Love the TMNT photo frame! What a clever idea.
