It's a beautiful National Trust park designed by Humphrey Repton in 1812 and there are some breathtaking views of the coastline and countryside.
We started off in the Bower and the boys built a fabulous den. Molly spelled her name out with wood and Harry decided to copy, with very little help from us. I was so proud of him!
We then had a wander around the pond, wildlife meadow and had a look at the amazing insect hotel. I need to make one the same according to the children!
It's an incredibly peaceful and gorgeous place to be and we love visiting.
After a picnic lunch we drove a couple of miles to Sheringham seafront for another walk. My pedometer was on fire yesterday! We could see Beeston Bump which is a cliff top hill (207ft high) with the North Norfolk coastal path going over it and we've decided that we'll climb it one day. It will be hard-going, especially with my dodgy hip but I bet the views will be awesome!

Loved reading this. When we were children we used to holiday in North Norfolk staying in family friends' static caravan, just the other side of Beeston Bump. We used to walk over it to Sheringham. We also remember the evening 'stroll' my mum made us going on along the beach to Cromer. It wasn't as near as she'd said!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a beautiful place to visit, and the weather looks fabulous, too. And then to round the day off with a seafront- perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning looking place to visit, you certainly picked a good time of year with all those flowers in bloom. I am totally into bug hotels at the moment and am determined to create one here at Coombe Mill, I'm pinning this one to help my design. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous place to visit and that den looks amazing!
