The first week could have been a disaster for us as the weather was appalling and it was the week hubby had chosen to take some time off. We had been looking forward to a week of sunshine and trips out to the beach and park but it didn't happen that way. Everyone was getting grumpy with being stuck indoors but TalkTalk came to the rescue. I know that sounds cheesy, but it really did save the day!
We raided the cupboards for some snacks and then settled down in front of TalkTalk Box Office for a couple of afternoons in front of some family films without needing to go out in the downpours to rent a DVD.
First choice was Paddington. I've loved Paddington ever since I was little but I was dubious about a modern take on the loveable bear. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was heart-warming and funny, although a little gross in places (I won't look at my toothbrush in the same way ever again) and had us all laughing. The children sat glued and even hard-to-please hubby thoroughly enjoyed it.

Next up was Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which has to be a contender for longest ever film title, surely? Hubby and I chose this as we love Steve Carrell in The Office and thought it would be something we'd all be able to enjoy. Alexander is an 11 year old who feels that everything goes wrong for him but he gets feels that he gets no sympathy from his family who seem to have perfect lives. On the eve of his birthday Alexander wishes that they could experience a bad day and they do, with hilarious results.

I'm happy to say that the second week of the break was beautiful and we were able to enjoy plenty of fresh air and exercise but I'm so glad that we have the option of TalkTalk Box Office.
