Half-term fun on the Norfolk coast

This half-term has seen a real mixed bag of weather and I also had two shifts at work scheduled so we've not been as far as we would have liked nor have we seemed to have done as much as we usually do when the children are off school but on the days we have been out the children have had lots of fun, whether it's been a quiet day on the coast or an adrenalin filled day at the theme park.

On Wednesday we were supposed to head to a museum for a war-time day with friends but they let us down so we decided to head for Gorleston, near Great Yarmouth. There's a park on the cliffs with a play area, trim trail, promenade walk, boating lake, paddling pool and of course the beach.

It wasn't quite warm enough for the beach but the children ran off some energy on the park and trim trail before we enjoyed a picnic and then a wander along the promenade. It was a fab cheap day out as parking didn't cost anything and we took our own food. I'm really looking forward to the summer when we can go back there for a day on the beautiful sandy beach.

On Thursday my shift was cancelled so we took the children to Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach. Initially the cost of wristbands seems off-putting (£19.95 each for Molly & Charlie and £15.50 for Harry)  but we used our Spree voucher for 20% off and between the 3 of them the children used the equivalent of 230 tokens (£230) over the course of the day so it worked out as incredible value. We were there from park opening at 11am and left a few minutes before closing at 6pm. It was a fun-filled day, worth every penny, and the children had an amazing time.

It's not the biggest theme park around but the rides are close enough together that there was always something for Harry to go on by himself while the eldest two were on the bigger rides and although there were a lot of people there was very little queuing for the children to do and on most rides they came off and ran straight on again!

  3. It looks like you managed some great fun days out over half term, the kids look like they really enjoyed themselves. The trim trail and park looks like it was a good choice, the kids look like they burnt off plenty of energy there. Great Yarmouth looks like a fantastic place to visit, and it looks like you made the right choice and saved yourself some money too, it's great to see the smiles on the kids faces in all the photos. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.

  4. Love the theme park! A bit pricey and same reason why I love vouchers, they just make things more affordable! #countrykids

    1. Thanks Emma. The blog layout I had meant that the photo size was limited but I've changed it so that the photos can be bigger now and can be seen more clearly x
