Ministry of Science Live *review*

Ministry of Science promised a show full of amazing science and explosions and they didn't disappoint. As a massive, heart-stopping explosion and fireworks rocked the theatre and led to the two presenters bursting onto stage we knew we were in for a high-energy and noisy ride.

We were given a brief tour of science through the ages with the voice from The X-Factor Peter Dickson and then the presenters Mike and Vicky showed us a range of cool experiments with gases, household items, my favourite: the plasma ball, and a little help from the audience. A few lucky children even got the chance to go on stage to participate in some experiments. One little boy even got to pilot a 'homemade' hovercraft.

Unlike many theatre shows photographs and videos were actively encouraged, although my poor camera phone failed miserably at times!

Such a shame this came out so fuzzy!

Mike's high-speed rendition of the periodic table was incredible and we were very impressed.

Although this show is aimed primarily at children the adults in the audience enjoyed the show as much as the children and everyone joined in. The theatre regularly erupted to cheers, whoops, chanting and shouts of joy.

Despite the fast pace everything is explained in clear terms for even the youngest children to understand. Charlie sat there open-mouthed in amazement and loved every minute. Molly came away looking forward to her next science lesson at school…and hoping she'll be allowed to recreate some of the explosions in the science lab!

A deafening finale!

It was a fun, enjoyable night out for all ages and hugely educational. What more could you want for a family show?

Many thanks to Norwich Theatre Royal for inviting us to review the show.
