Project 366 10th January 2016

The sun was shining and we wanted to go out for a walk to get some fresh air and a bit of exercise but it was a little too chilly for the coast so we dug out a treasure hunt for Dereham.

We love the local treasure hunts as they always take us to parts of towns and villages that we've never been to before and Dereham was no exception.

We came across this beautiful thatched cottage, known as Bishop Bonner's Cottage, next to the church in the town. It dates from 1502 and has a long history which can be read here. It now houses Dereham museum, which was sadly shut today, but it gives us a good excuse to return to Dereham in May when it opens again.

My phone camera just doesn't do justice to the colourful pargetting.
