The Dragon's Disguise *review*

My children love reading as much as I do so when we were very excited to be asked by local author Todd Henderson if we'd like to review his series of books.

The Dragon's Disguise follow the escapades of a young lad called Oscar and his new-found dragon friend Norm.

In the first book we're introduced to Oscar and his family. His imagination runs wild one stormy night and he's adamant that he can see a terrifying dragon outside. It's a lovely little story for children who are afraid of storms as it shows that things are never quite as bad as your imagination lets you believe.

The second book of the series, A Storm is the Norm, finds a braver Oscar on an adventure where he meets Norm and realises that he's not such a terrifying dragon after all.

Volume 3 is a festive story where Norm and Oscar step in to help Santa because there's a problem with the reindeer.

All three books are of a great length for story time and are beautifully written-the rhyming text adds a fun element to reading them. The illustrations by James McNulty are colourful and fit the story perfectly and Harry, too young to read the text, likes being able to re-tell the story from the pictures.

We enjoyed the questions at the end of each story and they all loved spotting the local iconic landmarks.

It's rare to find something that all three children, with an age range of 5 to 11, enjoy reading/listening to but these certainly fit the bill and they ask for them time and time again.

The books can be purchased from Amazon and you can follow The Dragon's Disguise on facebook and on twitter @DragonsDisguise
