Project 366 14th-22nd August 2016

The children were away at my Mum's as we went to the theatre on Friday and they weren't coming home until Monday evening so we had a whole weekend to ourselves! On Sunday we went to Brancaster Beach. It's one of our favourites but we don't visit too often as it's quite a journey from home. We parked up by the golf club and walked for miles-too many miles as the tide had come in when we made the return journey and I was left stranded on one side of a channel of water while hubby managed to wade across. It was horrible and I felt so stupid for not realising what would happen but it turned out well as I had to walk back along the beach and cut through Titchwell Marsh to get back towards the main road. I stopped a number of times to admire the scenery and the wildlife even though I just wanted to get back to the car! Charlie can't wait to take his binoculars and go bird spotting.

I forgot to get my friend to water the plants while we were away and she was keeping an eye on the house for us but Molly was really pleased to see that some of her tomatoes had grown.

It was really hard to choose just one photo for today as we spent time at Felbrigg walled gardens and rock pooling on the beach at East Runton. I chose this one because Charlie had a really good day. He really got into looking at all the flowers, herbs and vegetables growing in the walled gardens and then he spent a couple of very happy hours rooting about in the rock pools discovering lots of little creatures.   He seems to thoroughly enjoy nature and his surroundings nowadays.

A quiet day for us today as I had to work in the morning and then we met Harry's school friend and her family in the park. I plonked my chair in the shade and me & my friend had a thoroughly good catch up for a few hours while they all played together.

Today was another good day for Charlie. He was full of enthusiasm around the junior farm at Wroxham Barns and encouraged Harry to get up close to the animals. The indoor play area was really quiet so he was able to run free for a while and loved jumping into the ball pool. I just love this action shot!

We met my aunt at Easton Farm Park in Suffolk as she was looking after my cousin's sons. The children all had a great time together and my three were really good at helping out with the boys. The children went on most of the rides and although Charlie could only just squeeze into the bug barrel, with his knees right up against the steering wheel, he was determined to have a ride.

Despite our earlier trip this to Brancaster beach it didn't put us off going again but we knew we'd stay well away from that particular channel of water. The children took their buckets so we could go beach coming but the tide was incredibly low so there wasn't a huge amount to see but they were still happy. I was amazed at how far the tide had gone out. We walked out a fairly long way but still there were people in the distance walking their dogs. It's such an amazing expanse of sand but I can see why people get into trouble walking out to the shipwreck or Scolt Head Island. Having getting stuck last Sunday and after watching the speed at which the tide came in a East Runton a few days ago I am even more wary of changing tides now.

I'd put it off for a while but armed with a very long list me & the children went into the city to get new uniform, shoes, trainers, stationery etc etc for the new term. I thought it'd be an expensive trip but we managed to pick up a few bargains but it was a very tiring day. On our way back to the car park we walked past the majestic castle standing tall and proud over our wonderful city. Molly commented "I've seen it a thousand times but the castle always makes me go wow" My sentiments exactly.

As part of my Mum's 60th birthday Molly wanted to take her out for her first ever Afternoon Tea at Biddy's in Norwich. I told her to dress smartly as she's usually in leggings and tshirts and she amazed me with the effort she made. I was stunned at how beautiful and grown up she looks. Where has my baby girl gone?!
