As always when meeting a new baby I like to take along a little gift. I tend to stay away from clothes as I know that with ours we ended up with far too many outfits that just didn't get worn so I've bought him a cuddly rabbit and book set.
I also wanted to take something for the new Mum as I think we get left out. I know that we have bigger things going on when you've just had a baby but it's still nice to receive something!
With limited time and the inability to get to anywhere other than Tesco before tomorrow I asked on twitter for ideas and a few people came up with the suggestion of a Rescue Pack. I loved the idea. A few treats just for Mum. Perfect!
So I bought these;
- Toiletries set. A soak in the bath is always appreciated.
- Selection of calming tea bags
- Lemon & ginger for tea when she needs a pick-me-up (every day with a newborn!)
- A mug with three owls, representing her new family of three.
- And the all-important bar of chocolate!
If I get chance to pop into town tomorrow morning en route to hers I'm going to pop in some lavender oil or spray in as it has a calming and relaxing effect and helps me & my children sleep better.
I do hope she likes her present.
That's a lovely thoughtful gift.
