Just days before the snow arrived back in Suffolk our latest bundle of crafty treats arrived from Yellow Moon with perfect timing!
2 Easter baskets kits
120 Easter Greetings Glitter Foam Stickers
3 Easter Decoration Sewing Kits
Easter Card Making Kit (5 cards)
4 Easter Wooden Bead Bracelets
Easter Foam Crown Kits
3 Sequin Egg Kits
The eldest two had a friend home after school one day and as it was too cold to go outside we got busy with some of the craft kits.
I didn't get to see the cards as they all sealed their envelopes before I was allowed to take a photo. I can imagine that the embellishments add a great 3D effect to the cards and only hope I receive one for Easter! The children also used the foam Easter stickers on their cards.
We still have the baskets to make, hopefully they'll be done in time for our Easter egg hunt next week!
The girls really loved the wooden beaded bracelets and enjoyed making them, only needing a little help with tying the elastic cord.
The felt sewing kits were great and really easy to do. The instructions are simple enough for the children to follow without adult help and we love that everything is included in the kits. There were added decorations and sequins for this egg but Charlie was happy with it just having the chick on.
The sequin eggs were a little bit fiddly at first for the children but I put all the pins into the sequins before they stuck them in so they could concentrate on decorating the eggs. I've made the sequin Christmas baubles in the past and they look very pretty. Molly and Charlie chose to give theirs away as Easter gifts. Charlie left a gap at the bottom of his so he could write an Easter message.
We loved these fun and funky Easter crowns. They make a great alternative to Easter bonnets and were really quick to make.
The design your own kits were a big hit with their friends who couldn't wait to take them home to show their parents. Even Harry (age 2) could easily join in with these and he had a go at decorating coasters, keyrings, the polystyrene birds and spinning tops. The keyrings, coasters and fridge magnets make great gifts for Grandparents and all items work well for party bag fillers. The coasters were just big enough to take Harry's hand so we're going to make a handprinted one for his Grandma's birthday.
The magnet kits were popular too and very simple to make and fix together. The possibilities are endless with these decorate-your-own kits. Here's our fingerprint family :-)
The girls and Harry loved colouring in these polystyrene birds and despite being thrown around by a heavy handed 2 year old they've lasted amazingly well!
The spinning top cards had a variety of designs on and when coloured in the children were amazed at what their patterns looked like when spinning!
All of the children loved the t-shirt shaped keyrings and they're now proudly attached to coats and school book bags.
The next pack was the Super Value party bag fillers. Many a birthday have I spent an entire fortune (and many hours) trying to put together decent party bags but this unisex selection cuts out the work. Included in the pack were 36 tattoos (always a favourite, even with Harry!), polystyrene gliders (I loved these as a child), eye jet balls, googly eye putty, mini rainbow springs and googly eye monster keyrings. The children loved this selection and have had great fun playing with the toys.
If you're looking for crafts to keep the children occupied over the school holidays or when stuck indoors because of the bad weather take a look at the Yellow Moon website. There's so much choice for everyone and something to suit every pocket.
