We've had iffy weather over the last few days so when the sun shone after a heavy rain shower last this afternoon me, Molly & Charlie grabbed our coats and decided to escape outdoors for a while.
We headed to Marriotts Way, a few minutes from home but explored paths and fields off the usual track for a change. A big mistake as it was ridiculously muddy and slippery in places but we still had a great walk and it was good to get some fresh air, even if the strong gusts of wind took our breath away at times!

Yesterday's storm had knocked down a few of the trees. Charlie pretended he had a chainsaw and was cutting the tree up! |

Just hanging around! |
 |
The first time we'd seen ducks in the stream and the children were quite excited. |

Posing and pouting on a mound. |
 |
Hanging around again. |
 |
Reading the names etched into the bricks of the rail bridge. |
 |
The children loves seeing the planes flying over the fields….so it's handy we're not too far from the airport! |

Trying to do a handstand but tumbling onto the grass instead |

I love the spirit of this walk, never mind the paths a little exploring is always more fun especially with a little imagination to do the things kids should like climb, hang and pretend. Pah to the April showers, just got to gab some time when you can and enjoy as you did here. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place for a walk and looks like your children had a lot of fun exploring and hanging off the trees! Outdoor fun at its best! :-)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, they are clearly having so much fun, and it looks beautiful there x
