There are around 100 small decorated beach huts dotted around Cromer and Sheringham in conjunction with the 2016 Cromer & Sheringham Crab and Lobster Festival with each hut handcrafted by a local charity 'About With Friends'.
Last year a number of businesses displayed decorated ships wheels and the children loved wandering around the town looking out for them and deciding which they judged the best decorated. We've yet to finish a trail but they're always something fun to do when you want a bit of gentle exercise and fresh air.
We ticked off about a third of the list but the trail is running until mid-August and we're regular visitors to Cromer and Sheringham so maybe this year will be the year we finally complete a trail!
A lot of hard work and creativity goes into these works of art but so far the clear favourite for us is the Up beach hut at Upstairs Downstairs, and the Matilda hut at Cromer Library comes in a close second (as we're huge Roald Dahl fans!)
If you'd like to take part in the trail leaflets are available at various locations in Cromer and Sheringham. We picked ours up at the Tourist Information. Do let us know which hut is your favourite!
Oh those are really cute! I loved Sheringham when we went there in December, lovely little town.
ReplyDeleteOh they are cute, it makes me want to go and make a beach hut too. How lovely to be able to wander around the town spotting these in windows. If it is carrying on till August there should be plenty of people able to admire them. I think I like the purple striped one, stripes and beach huts go together for me. Thank you for sharing on #CountryKids
ReplyDeleteOh these are wonderful. I love seeing colourful full-size beach huts but miniature ones just adds to the magic. #countrykids
