Priory Maze and Gardens

We have driven past Priory Maze and Gardens a number of times but have never stopped off so when a groupon offer landed in my inbox I thought we'd try it out this year.

The groupon deal included a trail for the children so it gave them stuff to look out for as I took in the beautiful surroundings.

There are a number of different themed garden areas with a huge array of plants and flowers and I became rather snap happy with the camera. I was in my element.

After walking around the gardens we headed into the maze and soon came across a viewpoint. After working out which direction we needed to head to for the exit we wandered….and wandered….and wandered. We were going around in circles and Harry kept asking when we'd get out.

Taking a well-earned rest

After what felt like an eternity we came across the viewpoint again and knew the entrance was close by so we snuck out that way. I bet we're not the only ones! Mazes aren't one of my favourite activities because I'm claustrophobic. I last went in a maze at Leeds Castle many years ago and it didn't end well when it took us far too long to get out.

There's a cafe and a few picnic benches placed around the garden so it would be easy to spend most of the day there, especially as there's so much to see.  The changes in the seasons would bring something new to see with each visit too. The children are looking forward to going back-even Charlie who normally hates this type of place.
