On the hunt for another Spontaneous City

After discovering the two Spontaneous City installations at Cow Tower and Eaton Park in Norwich we found out that there is another one in Waterloo Park. We'd been to that park numerous times but hadn't ever spotted it so after a week of being stuck indoors with one or more of us being sick I thought it would do us good to get out in the fresh air and go on the hunt for the bird & bug houses.

Harry spotted this pile of leaves in the car park and couldn't resist jumping in it. That's what piles of leaves are made for surely?!

The children were trying to catch a falling leaf which is one of a few things they haven't done on the '50 things to do before you're 11 and 3/4'.

Autumnal smiles.

It was a gorgeous day, and so warm for October. Other than one week of rain we've been really lucky with the weather lately.

I love the colours of the trees in the background.

If Charlie isn't bottle flipping he'd doing the dab. Both trends irritate me (and many other parents I'm sure!) as he's constantly doing them. It could be worse I suppose!

There's a lovely little play area in the park. Not much for Molly's age but she still happily joins in with her brothers.

Walking back through the park towards the pavilion we spotted a group of older ladies taking part in some gentle circuit training. We watched them for a while (me with jealousy as they were fitter and more flexible than I am at the moment) and Charlie & Harry decided to join in on the steps!

On the way back to the car park-dismayed because we had walked around the entire park and hadn't found the Spontaneous City-Charlie found this. Do you know what it is? I asked on instagram but didn't get any answers.

We were quite sad that we hadn't found what we were looking for and wondered if the tree had sadly been cut down but then as I looked across the grass towards a squirrel I spotted the tree. We had walked past it twice!

The children were really pleased but even if we hadn't found it we had still had a lovely time wandering around the park and it was so good to escape the house.
