Project 366 14th-31st December 2016

The last instalment of my Project 366 for 2016 is a bit minimal due to lack of activity, especially between the 20th and 31st while I was recovering from my hip replacement. I've yet to complete a full year of a photo project and as I won't be getting out much for the next 3 months I think it best not to try another one. Maybe I'll do a photo a month?!

Anyway, here's the remainder of 2016 in photos....

14th: Playing with the SpyNet Eyeclops TV microscope. Read our review here

15th: Harry missed his 'home' school Christmas play due to sickness but  we managed to make it to his SRB year 2 play. He was absolutely brilliant. I was dreading watching him after his abysmal behaviour during the play last year but he was an absolute star. He remembered his lines and spoke them loud and clear. He had such a lovely smile on his face when singing too. My heart burst.

17th: Charlie got his classmates to sign a get well card for me. Bless him!

18th: Our last full family day together before my operation so I wanted to head to the coast for a walk. It was dull and misty at Happisburgh but we had a lovely time. I wanted a nice photo of the children....so Dad made them shout boogers!

19th: Knowing that I wouldn't feel up to much on Christmas Day, even if I was discharged from hospital, we had a meal out at Frankie & Benny's after hubby finished work. I tried again for a lovely photo of the children but Harry went camera shy and hid behind Hulk.

20th: Op Day. It all went well and by 2.30pm I was on the ward. The children and hubby visited soon after bringing 2 books that I'd had sitting on my bedside table for months because I just couldn't get into them, chocolate that melted, juice that was too heavy for me to lift and pour and some Lucozade which they drank!! The thought was there.... :)

21st: Boy had I missed my iPod and kindle. The iPod came in really handy when I was struggling to sleep. I was able to catch up on a few podcasts that I had downloaded and my kindle kept me sane during the day.

23rd: Oh my God. This view. Absolutely sick of staring at the ceiling, especially as I have to lay flat on my back. Awake so many times in the night and despite never needing the loo in the night before the operation I'm suddenly needing a wee every couple of hours which means calling a nurse and waiting for them to get me out of bed so I can drag myself to the loo. It's a slight improvement on the first night though after a bedpan leaked in the bed and then I made it to a commode only for my blood pressure to drop drastically and I nearly fainted. Eurgh.

24th: Driving home for Christmas...except getting into the car took about 10 minutes, much huffing and puffing, gritted teeth and many tears. It was the worst car journey I'd ever been on. Thank goodness we live 7 miles away.

26th: Christmas Day had been a bit of a non-event for me as I spent most of the day in bed asleep so when I was feeling a bit better on Boxing Day I made sure I played plenty of games with the children to make up for it. Harry received many games for Christmas and Hedbanz is his favourite. We're all rubbish at it though!

29th: Hubby went out with Charlie for a little while and I went up to bed to rest so my babysitters followed me. Harry promptly fell asleep and Molly sat watching Friends with her earphones in so I had very little in the way of conversation.

30th: I'm stuck with one chair downstairs as all the others are too low for me so Molly came to join   me while she did some colouring in. I've been feeling a little left out at times, especially at meal times as I can't even join the family at the dining table and I have to eat in the living room. I can't wait to get back in the dining room. It's so funny what little things you miss and take for granted.

Happy New Year!
