Easy Ghost Halloween Decoration

I had spent a few weeks wondering about what we could add to our very small collection of Halloween decorations and then time ran away and I find myself horribly close to Halloween.

I had been saving the balls from roll-on deodorants in the hope that I could find a use for them rather than chucking them away so when we visited Cromer Museum and the children took part in a 'Creepy Cromer' craft workshop they made some ghosts using cotton wall balls and coffee machine liners I realised we could make similar.

They were really quick to make and took minimal effort-perfect for my youngest who hates sitting still for too long!

To make these ghosts you'll need;

White fabric.
Deodorant balls or table tennis balls. (If you don't have either of these you can use cotton wall balls but they're a little harder to draw on)
Erasable fabric pen or a light pen that won't show up through the sheet.
Something round to draw your ghost sheet. We used a dinner plate approx diameter 26cm.
Scissors. Pinking shears limit fraying.
Pens or stickers for the face.
Thread.

Using the fabric pen I drew around the plate and cut out the sheet using pinking shears. Folding the template into quarters before cutting around makes it quicker to cut out and creates a more even circle.

I really should have ironed the material first!!

Put the ball in the middle of the fabric and twist it a little and then tie some thread around to secure the ball in place, leaving some excess to hang the ghost up.

Draw or stick your ghostly face on and then hang up.

It's as simple as that!
