Harry spends a lot of time outside waiting for his taxi in the morning and it's interesting to see how he occupies himself each day. On Monday he found a green bug outside and was watching it jump. It landed on his foot and he even let it jump onto his finger. He usually freaks out when fast-moving insects and animals are close but he really surprised me.
We had planned a picnic at our local park with a friend from school but within 5 minutes of arriving it started raining. Me & my friend sheltered under a tree but Charlie, Molly, Harry and J were quite happy playing football in the rain!
At work on Wednesday N asked me if I would clean her garden chairs as her family were coming over from Malaysia. All of them had looked like the one on the right for as long as I had worked with N but with a lot of elbow grease (and sweat!) I managed to get them all sparkling clean. I was quite pleased as I thought it was an impossible task.
We're so lucky to have a play area and playing field just 1 minute away from our house so we're often found there after school. As Harry wandered over to this piece of equipment I said "You're too small for that one" but he proved me wrong. Apparently, the other day, Daddy had shown him how to get right up there and across to the metal bars!
I only take Harry to school on Fridays and I really miss our time together but after dropping Molly at High School on Friday morning it was too early to head to his school so we went to the park in the village for a little while. We saw his 'girlfriend' who usually goes into school with her Mum as she works there but she came along with us to play too and another of Harry's classmates appeared soon after. Even though he has been to the SRB unit since early April they are all still really excited when Harry's at school. It's so lovely and as his report said, he's such a popular little boy and he's never short of friends.
The in laws came over for the day on Saturday and after a BBQ we headed out for a short walk and an ice cream at Wroxham. Harry and Charlie fed the swans (I've never seen so many swans in one place!) and the rest of us sat people watching and chuckling at the way some inexperienced sailors were steering their boats through the bridge (that was us a few weekends ago!!)
Summer appears to properly be here at long last and with temperatures due to hit 25 degrees there's only one place to go-the beach. We went to Mundesley, a firm favourite with our family as everything we could want is there, and were really pleased to see a natural paddling pool which meant the children could play in the water a few feet away from us with little danger. The water was up to their knees at its deepest and it was really warm. I love days like this :-)
